More than anything, our working lives are shaped by the nature and scope of our jobs, the teams we work in and the technologies we use. Each is closely dependent on the others (which is why they are all together in this Element!) and its important to ensure that they are aligned in practice.
‘Our people are our greatest asset’ is a cliché repeated endlessly in all sorts of organisations and often not taken very seriously in practice. When jobs, teams and technologies are designed and implemented with empowerment in mind, the true value of that asset is realised both on the bottom line and in the quality of people’s lives.
